Who Is a Good Fit?

You might be my client if…

You're the one everyone depends on. Your calendar is full. Your friends ask you for advice.

You have a career you're proud of. You function well, maybe even exceptionally well. But your inner world feels completely different. You're constantly analyzing yourself. You can't enjoy your accomplishments before you're already thinking about the next thing. You don't know how to relax without feeling guilty. You wonder if you're actually anxious because you can’t identify what is making you feel anxious. You start to wonder if this is just who you are. You keep waiting for life to finally feel easier. It never does.

You keep waiting for life to finally feel easier. It never does.

What That Looks Like

You function well, maybe even exceptionally well. But your inner world feels completely different.

The Everyday Version

The patterns that bring people through my door

  1. Feeling guilty when you rest.
  2. Overthinking conversations for days.
  3. Believing every accomplishment was just “what you were supposed to do.”
  4. Feeling responsible for keeping everyone else comfortable.
  5. Never knowing whether you're asking for too much.
  6. Feeling disconnected from yourself despite having a full life.

A Good Fit

Therapy with me is probably a good fit if you:

  • Are curious about yourself, even when it's uncomfortable.
  • Want to understand your patterns rather than just reduce symptoms.
  • Are willing to consider your own role in recurring challenges.
  • Appreciate honest feedback delivered with warmth and respect.
  • Want therapy to be collaborative, practical, and focused on meaningful change.

An Honest Note

We may not be the best fit if:

  • You're looking for someone to simply validate your perspective without exploring other possibilities.
  • The primary concern is active addiction, psychosis, disordered eating, or a personality disorder that requires specialized treatment.
  • You're seeking therapy for a child younger than high school age.
  • You're hoping I'll “take sides” in couples therapy. When I am seeing a couple, I believe the relationship is my client, not an individual.

If any of that second list is where you are right now, it does not mean therapy won't help. It means someone with different specialized training will serve you better, and I would rather tell you that early than take up your time. I have a great network of professionals I would be happy to refer you to.

Sound like you?

You don't need a perfectly organized list of problems, and you don't need to know your goals yet. Send an email and we'll start from wherever you are.
